Becoming a PGA Pro Golfer Ace Your Game There are only 125 spots on the PGA Tour, so securing yours demands more than talent. You need dedication, determination, discipline, and unwavering focus. If you don’t want to say goodbye to your PGA Pro dreams, practice harder. Work on perfecting your swing, hitting accurate shots, and improving your short game. Recruiting a professional coach is a great idea, as you’ll have someone to hold you accountable, correct your form, and push you beyond your limits.  Acing your game also includes preparing your body for it. Follow a balanced diet and a consistent workout routine for physical wellness. Since golf is a mentally demanding sport, don’t forget to work on your mental strength. Now, for the moment of truth – do you want to go pro?  Entering professional competitions is not only expensive but also excessively competitive! The easiest route, especially in the UK, is to become a PGA member and enter the PGA Open series. These events charge a £100 fee and have a £20,000 prize fund – whoop! Attend Q-School (Qualifying School!) Your next target is a PGA Tour card, which is only possible if you participate in the Korn Ferry Tour and finish in the top 25. It’s not an easy process. To qualify for the Korn Ferry Tour, you must pass all the stages of Q-School. It’s a prerequisite and a very tough one.  Q-School has four stages, including: Pre-Qualifying 1st Stage 2nd Stage Final Stage You must complete these in a span of four months. Each stage tests your golf skills, physical strength, and mental capabilities. It’s needless to say that each stage is harder than the one preceding it. If you perform well, clear the final stage, and are in the top 25, congratulations! You’ll have an unconditional spot on the Korn Ferry Tour.  Don’t droop those shoulders yet. There’s still hope for those who finish 25-50. They’ll get conditional status, which means you can participate in some Korn Ferry Tour events. Become a PGA Pro Golf Player Clear the four gruelling stages of Q-School, finish in the top 25 at the Korn Ferry Tour, and get ready for your debut as a PGA Pro golfer. This is the day you’ve worked so hard for. You’ve practiced tirelessly, cried, and laughed your way through the amateur events. It’s finally time to reap the rewards of your dedication.
